Jeon Hye-jin Makes Comeback After Husband Lee Sun-kyun’s Passing, “Want To Give Comfort To Other Mothers”
According to Newsis’s report of Genie TV’s “Riding Life” press conference on February 25th, actress Jeon Hye-jin confessed, “It’s been a while”, adding “I’m in charge of a female character who fully focuses on raising her 7-year-old daughter as she is preparing for an exam”.
Regarding her character, Jeon Hye-jin said, “She struggles to balance both parenting and work because she wants to do both well”, adding “Lee Jeong-eun is also the name of a very close friend of mine. The fact that my character’s name is the same as that of my agency’s CEO had a big influence on me. I really wanted to play Jeong-eun”.
The actress explained, “I’m actually very interested in education. It’s inevitable once you take on the title of ‘mother’”, adding “The story set in Daechi-dong’s academy district naturally draws my attention. It’s heartbreaking and sad at the same time. It has a story about mom and daughter, which is why I decided to join this project.”
Jeon Hye-jin emphasized that the synchronization rate with her character Lee Jeong-eun is up to 70%.
The actress continued, “I’m raising my child and working at the same time, so I guess that’s why I can relate to the story,” adding, “To be honest, I’m not sure if I’m as passionate as Jeong-eun. I think a lot about education, but I wonder if it’s right for me to apply all of such experience to portraying Jeong-eun. I don’t know the answer, and I’m still wondering. Well, I do my best to fit the situation, but I don’t think I can be like Jeong-eun.”
She continued, “By playing the role of Jeong-eun, I want to give support and encouragement to other mothers. You are doing your best no matter what situation you are in. You may take the wrong path and regret it when you look back, but I want to offer comfort.”
Starring Jo Min-su and Jeon Hye-jin, “Riding Life” will premiere at 10 p.m. on March 3rd via Genie TV, Genie TV Mobile, and ENA.
